Panarchism

1.
A veil wears thin somewhere— The spectacle of exploitation Reinvents itself. We all buy in. We all buy in. Your pain is the opiate Of your oppressor. You could not cross such a distance Given even ten thousand lifetimes. The hazard of movement Through surplus territories Marching like patriots. Tenor and opened neck. The veil wears thinner yet, Abraded like powdered bone Applied like a mask Becoming a new way to die. Remembering their new faces Swallowing the stale lies Choking on ancient parts of themselves.

about

The concept of a one-party civilization is nearer to us each day. Flags in shades of purple. Contrary to the melodrama of dystopian fiction, one arm of the spectrum will not be destroyed by the other. It will be absorbed. It has been absorbed. The pendulum swung. Flags in shades of purple. The American political circus sends its heaviest predators out on the catwalk every four years, goading the groaning heap of government into action for a series of manic photo-ops. In mere seconds the ability to be an objective critic of politics is abandoned. In its place are tanks festooned with pride flags, priests leading survivor groups, masterminds of genocide exhibiting new work at the Smithsonian. The pendulum swung, a bolt of blurred perse.
